The Educator

Teacher Is a person engaged in teaching and educating students, as a rule, professionally trained. But the teacher is first and foremost a person who voluntarily took upon himself the high responsibility for the upbringing and training of another person who let him into his consciousness and carries out spiritual guidance to him. Such a high role of the teacher can be combined with the performance of purely teacher functions in the school, and can be performed voluntarily by no schoolteacher, for example, a confessor, an elder friend, a brother or a father. The teacher in this sense is the one who listens to the child, constantly watches its growth, provides necessary freedom, gives necessary advice, warns against treachery, superstition and hypocrisy. The teacher must be close to the disciple, otherwise there is no teaching. Orthodox pedagogy gives the teacher a special role: his impact on the child should be calculated for the whole life, the teacher simply must be orthodoxly educated and teach the other with love, trust, humility, but also exacting. Modern pedagogy believes that only a spiritually developed, creative personality, capable of reflection, professional skills, a great pedagogical gift and a desire for a new one can be a teacher. The teacher must understand the essence and value of education. The teacher is also an intermediary between the general cultural experience of mankind and the new generation.
