OFFICIAL NAME : The Commonwealth of Australia. Australia is situated south of Asia, between the Pacific and the Indian Oceans.
It is the world’s largest island and its smallest continent.
Kangaroo and Emu are symbol of the country. Australia is sometimes called “The Land of Wattle” or “Kangarooland”.
-when an early setter asked an Aborigine the name for the strange animal which hopped {jumped}, the Aborigine answered “Kan-gar-oo”, which means “I don’t know”
-the Big Red and Grey kangaroos are 2 meters high
- kangaroos lives for 10-15 years
- a baby kangaroo is blind {it can’t see} and it’s deaf {it can’t hear}
