Good morning, dear students and guests! Glad to see you! Look around the classroom. It’s so beautiful, there are so many decorations on the windows and on the walls. What holiday are we going to have soon? Yes, Christmas. Do you like this holiday? When is it celebrated?

Today we are going to have a contest. And we’ll speak about Christmas. All the tasks will be connected with this holiday. I hope you’ll have fun. Please, be active, sociable and friendly to each other. Let’s start!

What is the main symbol of Christmas? (a Christmas tree)

We’ve got a Christmas tree too! Do you like it? It’s nice but what’s wrong with it? Yes, it’s not decorated. I want to divide you into 2 teams. (“Snowflakes” and “Snowmen”.)

During the contest you’ll get the ornaments (red \ blue) and hang them on the tree. At the end of the contest we’ll count down the number of the ornaments and find out the winner.

1. Remember the words

The words appear on the screen 1 by 1. Try to remember as many as possible. The team that names more words wins. For every correct answer the teams get a snowball made of a crumpled piece of paper.

The teams play snowballs for a while and then keep 6 balls. Then students straighten pieces of paper and they need to mime the word on the paper.

1 student from every team goes to the blackboard. The teams get the card with Santa Claus and describe him in details. The students who are at the blackboard draw Santa. Who draws the most “correct” variant is the winner.
