Nonspecific people, places, things or idea
E.g. Chair, book, friend, teacher, table, window…… etc
Proper Nouns
Specific people, places, things
e.g. Jackson, Nelly, Ann, Moscow, Atlantic Ocean, London …etc.
Abstract Nouns
Something that we cannot perceive with our 5 senses.
E.g. freedom, love, hate, courage… etc .
Concrete nouns
Something we can perceive with our 5 senses.
e.g. apple, orange, house, cat, flower, room…etc.
Countable Nouns
Can be counted
e.g. pen- 2 pens
Orange - 3 oranges
Bike – 4 bikes
House – houses
Cat- cats
Uncountable Nouns
Can not be counted
e.g. bread, sugar, milk, water, rain, snow, hair, rice… etc
Compound Nouns
Made up of 2 or more words
e.g. mother-in low, schoolgirl, textbook, copy-book, blackboard, notebook… etc.
Collective Nouns
Refer to a group of things as one whole
e.g. bunch, audience, flock, group, family, class, band… etc.
Singular Nouns
Refer to one person, place, thing or idea
e.g. dog, horse, ship, desk, cup, table, book, room etc…
Plural Nouns
Refer to more than 1 thing, place, person or idea
e.g. dogs, horses, ships, books, desks, cups, tables, rooms… etc
