Тема: Great minds( Великие умы человечества)
Цель урока: совершенствовать коммуникативную компетенцию учащихся и развитие у них метапредметных и межпредметных навыков.
Задачи урока:
Обучающие:
формировать у учащихся целостную картину мира в рамках работы по теме «Великие люди»;
систематизировать изученную лексику по данной теме;
продолжить закрепление грамматических тем: временные формы английских глаголов.
Развивающие:
развивать навыки неподготовленной устной речи;
совершенствовать навыки аудирования и самостоятельной работы с текстом( ознакомительное и поисковое чтение);
развивать у учащихся критическое мышление.
Воспитательные: приобщение учащихся к культуре, традициям и реалиям страны изучаемого языка; воспитание патриотизма, гордости за свою страну, республику.
Оборудование: компьютер, мультимедийный проектор, аудиозаписи, презентация к уроку, раздаточный материал.
Ход урока.
I Организационный момент. Приветствие.
Формулирование темы урока:
We’ve already learnt a lot of new information about famous people. Have a look at the screen and try to predict what we are going to speak about at our today’s lesson. (Slide 1)

So our main topic for discussion will be the famous and great British, Russian and Bashkir people.
We are going to make a short trip to Russia and Great Britain and revise some great minds .

We start our trip from our republic Bashkortostan. (Slide 3) You know that Bashkortostan is a republic of many cultures. The people of Bashkortostan all have their own languages and cultures. They all make an important contribution to the prosperity of Russia, and to Russian and world culture.
Look at the screen, please. Do you know these great people of our republic?

You should know the famous people of our small motherland. And now let’s remember about our counry. It is necessary to say that great contribution to the development of the world science, culture, literature, music was made by the Russian people. The names of Russian scientists, writers, poets, composers, painters are world –famous.
Your task will be to find names of 10 Russian outstanding people in this crossword. Work in pairs. (Slide 5)

We have remembered about some well-known Russians. Well done. We know Great Britain is also famous for its people. It is necessary to point out that great contribution to the development of the world of science, literature, art, culture, music was made by English. (Slide)
