Урок в 8 классе

Тема: Great minds( Великие умы человечества)

Цель урока: совершенствовать коммуникативную компетенцию учащихся и развитие у них метапредметных и межпредметных навыков.

Задачи урока:

Обучающие:

1. формировать у учащихся целостную картину мира в рамках работы по теме «Великие люди»;

2. систематизировать изученную лексику по данной теме;

3. продолжить закрепление грамматических тем: временные формы английских глаголов.

Развивающие:

1. развивать навыки неподготовленной устной речи;

2. совершенствовать навыки аудирования и самостоятельной работы с текстом( ознакомительное и поисковое чтение);

3. развивать у учащихся критическое мышление.

Воспитательные: приобщение учащихся к культуре, традициям и реалиям страны изучаемого языка; воспитание патриотизма, гордости за свою страну, республику.

Оборудование: компьютер, мультимедийный проектор, аудиозаписи, презентация к уроку, раздаточный материал.

Ход урока.

I Организационный момент. Приветствие.

• Good morning! I’m glad to see you/ I hope everybody is ready to work.

Формулирование темы урока:

We’ve already learnt a lot of new information about famous people. Have a look at the screen and try to predict what we are going to speak about at our today’s lesson. (Slide 1)

• So our main topic for discussion will be the famous and great British, Russian and Bashkir people.

• We are going to make a short trip to Russia and Great Britain and revise some great minds .

• We start our trip from our republic Bashkortostan. (Slide 3) You know that Bashkortostan is a republic of many cultures. The people of Bashkortostan all have their own languages and cultures. They all make an important contribution to the prosperity of Russia, and to Russian and world culture.

• Look at the screen, please. Do you know these great people of our republic?

• It’s time to listen to your classmates’ report about one of the great person of our republic.

• You should know the famous people of our small motherland. And now let’s remember about our counry. It is necessary to say that great contribution to the development of the world science, culture, literature, music was made by the Russian people. The names of Russian scientists, writers, poets, composers, painters are world –famous.

• Your task will be to find names of 10 Russian outstanding people in this crossword. Work in pairs. (Slide 5)

• Let’ s listen to your classmates who will tell us about Yu. Gagarin. (выступление ученика)

• The next report will be about M.Lomonosov. Listen to boys, please.(Slides)

• The next task for you is to read the text about this great man. (Slide)

• Nothing diverts your attention. You are relaxing. Your troubles are far away.

• You love your parents, relatives, school and friends. They love you too. Learn to be happy at every pleasant thing. The Earth is full of wonders. You are able to do everything. You are sure in yourself.

We have remembered about some well-known Russians. Well done. We know Great Britain is also famous for its people. It is necessary to point out that great contribution to the development of the world of science, literature, art, culture, music was made by English. (Slide)

• What great English people do you know? /Margaret Thatcher, Michael Faraday, Isaak Newton, William Shakespeare, Robert Burns, Charles Darwin, Charlie Chaplin/

• Let’s remember some facts from the biography of one of the famous English people.

Listen to girls and then you will answer the questions. Be attentive, please.

• And now it’s time to recall another great English person. (Slide) What do you know about him? /He was the inventor of the telephone. He was born in 1847 in Scotland./

• You can see the sheets of paper on your desks. There is the text about A. G. Bell. The task for you is to put the verbs in brackets into the correct tense. You have two minutes to complete the task. (Slide) Let’s check your answers.

• In pairs ask and answer questions based on the text.
