London

London is the capital of the UK. It is a beautiful city. London is a city of history, museums and monuments.

The Houses of Parliament

Look at the Houses of Parliament on the river Thames. They are very old. There was a royal palace there, and now it is the home of the British Parliament.

Big Ben

Look at Big Ben. It is a very big bell in the clock tower of the Houses of Parliament.

Trafalgar Square

Look at Trafalgar Square. All tourists meet here. There is a beautiful monument to admiral Nelson in the centre.

Westminster Abbey

Look at Westminster Abbey. It is a historical church. There was the coronation of Queen Elizabeth II in Westminster Abbey.

Madam Tussaud’s

Look at Madam Tussaud’s. It is a museum of wax figures. There we can learn about London’s history.

The London Eye

Look at the London Eye. People have fun on it. It is on the Thames opposite the Houses of Parliament.

The Palace of King Henry VIII

Look at the palace of King Henry VIII. It is five hundred years old. Now it is a museum.

Tower Bridge

Look at Tower Bridge. It is a bascule bridge* over the River Thames. It is a symbol of London.
