Hi, Olga! As you remember, we`re doing a project on the topic of ‘Sports activities’.

I`ve found some pictures for the project and would like to tell you more about them.

1. Well, in the first picture a man is kicking a ball on a football pitch. In the second picture a girl is taking a break from swimming in a swimming pool. However, there are some differences between them. The man in the first picture is playing football, which is a team sports, whereas (while) in the second picture the girl is swimming, which is an individual sports. In my opinion, these two pictures perfectly illustrate the topic of our project because they represent 2 types of sports: team sports and individual sports.

1. There are some advantages in taking up team sports. The main advantage of team sports is that they develop communication and collaboration skills. As for individual sports, your results don`t depend on other teammates, so it`s up to you what you can achieve, which might boost your self-confidence.

1. Nevertheless, there are some disadvantages in team sports. If you are part of a team, you depend on other people`s timetable and you all have to buy the same uniform, which might be expensive. Speaking about individual sports, there are limited opportunities for social interaction but greater pressure to perform.

1. Personally, I would prefer to go in for swimming, as I am an introvert and not a people`s person. What`s more, flexibility in scheduling is of high importance to me. That`s all for now. Call me back.
