Tasks The primary tasks of the technologist of mechanical engineering are the ability to develop and organize the production process. You need to start with the choice of equipment, its correct placement on the shop floor without loss of time and production technology, automation of existing equipment, measures to improve the quality of products.
Profession technologist means that a person of this profession must know the technology of production. As well as output variety, then the technologist can be the technologist of machine building industry, wood industry technician or technologist sewing production and so on. But the main point is he must know the production technology at their fingertips - could be the treatment plan, for example details from the inception of the workpiece (casting, stamping) to finishing.
All mechanisms – from food processors to spaceships-consist of simple and complex parts. For the manufacture of these parts today require specialists who know how and from what parts they are assembled, versed in traditional and high technologies. This knowledge is given by the specialty "engineering Technology". It is for those who want to learn how to do something with their hands, manage modern machines and complex machines, perform drawings on the computer, sharpen parts on the machine. In modern production, the work of the technologist has changed.
Engineers-technologists not only develop documentation, they also carry out experimental and technological works, and also participate in purchase of the equipment and materials – after all they by the nature of the activity know perfectly what material and what equipment is necessary for production. When applying for a job, computer knowledge is valued, in particular, knowledge of automation programs for project work is a big plus. The more experience a process engineer has, the more chances to get a higher-paying job or get one .
Mechanical engineering technology is a specialty that remains in demand: every year at least 4 people apply for one budget place. It should be noted that engineers are trained only by state universities and technical schools, for commercial organizations this specialty is too expensive. Mechanical engineering technology requires the availability of special equipment (machines of different types), laboratories, computers with special programs in educational institutions – for the development of drawings, technological processes, creation of 3D models, etc.
The beginning of the development of this direction of the national economy in our country is usually associated with the name of Andrei Nartov, who in the 18th century invented the first Russian lathe. At that time, there were only a few engineers, mostly enthusiasts and pioneers of their business. But the main impetus for the development of mechanical engineering technology was largely due to the wars of the 19th and 20th century, when often the technical equipment of the army depended on victory. For Russia, the heyday of mechanical engineering occurred during the second world war, when almost all enterprises of the country began to produce weapons, ammunition and equipment.
