The theme: Travelling.

Form: 9 ‘’в’’

Theme: Target language: Grammar Perfect tenses, phrasal verbs travel and tourism, speaking about tourism.

The aim of the lesson: to review and practice continuous tenses, to develop the skills of thinking, writing, speaking, listening and translating.

The objectives:

1. To be able to explain and use Perfect tenses in speaking and writing.

2. To enrich grammar skills through the exercises, songs, text, phrasal verbs, and develop the skills of listening, speaking and perceiving.

3. To work in groups, pairs, to respect each other.

The lesson-discussion and excursion.

Equipment of the lesson: texts, cards, interactive board, tape.

The plan of the lesson:

1. Greeting. I delighted to see you. How are you? What can you say about your holidays? Your associations, tell me please? The first theme of our lesson is ‘’Travelling’’.

2. Associations. The associations to the word ‘’travel’’ (T – tourism, trip; R – rest, relax; A – abroad, air; V – voyage, village; E – earth, education; L – learn, luggage).

3. Working with new words: Adventure, relaxation, sight-seeing, sunbathing.

4. Discussion of the text: the main characters of the text are Tina, her parents and friends. Tina wanted to go to the holiday with friends, but without parents. Parents didn’t allow her. Her destination was Cornwall resort with its golden beaches and clear water. But finally her parents decided to go with Tina and her friends and live in another hotel. Asking the questions. What can you say about the end of the text? What did Tina decide to do? Did she go or not?

5. Work it out: hometown – place where you born, live; cover – to have money to pay; coast – beach; objections – disagreeing with something; laid-back – calm, relaxed; peer pressure – pressure from friends to do crazy things; awesome – cool, excellent; interfering – parents interfere.

6. Grammar: ask about Present perfect simple and Past perfect simple. Explanation of the grammar. What do you know about Present and Past perfect? When do we use these tenses?

7. Listen to a song and put the missing gaps: We’re the champions.

8. Debate: tourism is good or bad. Good: 1) Tourism provides a high profit. 2) It helps a country to be able to gain foreign exchange. 3) It provides employment to people who are serving in the hotels, etc. 4) It helps to exchange ideas. 5) Money from tourists goes to keeping the area clear, safe and prosperous. 6) It helps to know new languages, arts and cultures of different countries.

9. Bad: 1) It’s waste of time. 2) It`s a reason of pollution of area.

10. Presentations of traveling in different countries: 1^st – Traveling in Kazakhstan.

Kazakhstan is a unique region in the world, because of its history, geographical position and size. Being the world’s 9th largest country and located in the center of Eurasia is great for tourism. In addition, complicated history of Kazakh people have led to a unique authentic culture of Kazakhstan. These peculiarities have created an opportunity to develop various and diverse offers in Kazakhstan travel and tourism industry, which include authentic cultural tourism, nature-based activities, including ecotourism, in national parks and protected areas, skiing or trekking in mountains, water sport, sunbathing and swimming in lakes and rivers of Kazakhstan, and many others.

Trekking and winter sport. A range of high, middle and low mountains such as Tien Shan, Altay, Ulytau, etc. have a beautiful nature attracting tourists from all over the world. A unique sport complex Medeu with skating rink is popular among tourists.

Coast of the biggest lake in the world – Caspian Sea is perfect for sunbathing, swimming and fishing. Lake Balkhash is also a popular tourist destination for its health centers, recreation camps.

A unique culture of Kazakh people is a reason to travel to Kazakhstan for many tourists. Almost in every corner of the republic, a visitor, interested in real life of Kazakh people – their traditions, rituals, art and culture, will find many things of interest. These include museum complexes ethno-villages, depicting traditional lifestyle of Kazakh people, historical sides of medieval cities and many others.
