• The ethnographic museum of the Transbaikal peoples is a museum complex in the open air in the near suburb of Ulan-Ude - the picturesque area of the Upper Berezovka microdistrict.

Year of foundation.

• One of the largest open-air museums in Russia, it was opened in the middle of summer 1973 on the territory of 37 hectares.

On 37 hectares in seven ethnographic complexes more than 40 architectural monuments and 11 thousand exhibits were collected.

• The territory of the Ethnographic Museum is divided into several permanent complexes: archaeological, Evenki, Buryat, Pre-Baikal, Zabaikalsky, old-timer, Old Believer, urban.

• The exposition of each complex consists of farmsteads and farm buildings with implements of labor, household utensils, furniture and objects characteristic of settlements from the early 19th to early 20th centuries .

• There is also a “pets corner" on the territory of the museum, where typical representatives of the fauna of Transbaikalia are kept: bears, wolves, deer, roe deer, sarlyk, camels.

• Ethnographic museum of the peoples of Transbaikalia is the pride of the Republic of Buryatia .
