The United States of America is situated in North America.

The mighty rivers of the USA are the Mississippi, the Missouri, and the Colorado River.

Native Americans used the Mississippi as an important waterway travelling along it in canoe.

The Colorado River rises in the Rocky Mountains.

Another mountain chain is the Appalachians in the east.

The most famous places to enjoy beauty and power of wild America are the Grand Canyon, Yosemite Valley, and Yellowstone.

The Grand Canyon is one of the main tourist attractions.

The Canyon looks different at different times of the day, different weather and seasons.

The US is a young country because its history started only about 400 years ago.

Americans are fond of new ideas and like to be modern.

At the same time, they are interested in old traditions.

More than 300 million people live in the USA.

It’s like a melting pot for people.

The people of the US are a wonderful mixture of different nationalities, their customs and traditions.
