Учитель: Good morning , boys and girls.

Today we are going to visit London.
What do you know about London? (Предполагаемые ответы (фронтально)
London is the capital of Great Britain
London is one of the largest cities in the world
London is more than 2000 years old)
Do you prefer to travel alone or with friends?
Let’s form 3 (or 4) groups so you will travel together.
During our travelling you’ll get some information about London and do some tasks to check up your knowledge.
What is the main thing you need during your travelling?
(Учитель раздает учащимся небольшие листки бумаги, на которых они должны написать 2-3 слова, отвечая на заданный вопрос. После этого листки зачитываются вслух. Опыт показывает, что наиболее часто встречающиеся слова на листках – это “map” – карта. Каждая группа получает кату Лондона)
Учитель: By the way I was in London last summer and would like to show you some pics of mine. (Учитель показывает ребятам несколько своих фотографий , сопровождая их небольшими комментариями)
Учитель: Now we are ready to start. We start from Trafalgar Square. Find it on your maps.
(Учащиеся находят на кртах Трафальгарскую площадь)
(Учащийся 1: Один из учащихся делает небольшое сообщение о Трафальгарской площади – подготовка таких сообщений было домашним заданием. На экране соответствующий слайд презентации)
Учитель: Now we are coming to Piccadilly Circus. It’s the meeting point of six streets.
We’ve just passed Piccadilly Circus and now we are making our way to Buckingham Palace. Look right. We are passing Hyde Park. It is a very democratic park. In the park anyone can stand up and say what they want.
Now we are at Buckingham Palace.

Учитель: We have just turned left and you can see St.Jame’s Park. It is one of the royal parks. Here you can see pelicans and ducks. There are a lot of parks and gardens in London.

Учитель: In front of you you can see the Houses of Parliament and Big Ben.
(Учащийся 4: Сообщение о Биг Бене и Парламенте)
Учитель: In a moment you will see Westminster Abbey.

Учитель: Now we are crossing Tower Bridge over the river Thames. From here you can see the Tower of London.

Учитель: We are now going along Fleet Street to the Strand. On the right you’ll see Covent Garden. It was a big fruit and vegetable market . It is now a tourist shopping centre with cafes and restaurants. Our tour has finished. I hope very much that you have enjoyed this tour of London and would like you to do the task to check up your knowledge. Match the endings of the sentences to their beginnings. Work in groups.

Учитель: But not only people like travelling. I would like you to watch a video about an animal . It also enjoys travelling. Each student will have to find an answer to one question only. Then we’ll try to retell the story.
(Учащиеся случайным образом выбирают написанные на листочках вопросы, далее смотрят видео- FREE CHILDREN’S BOOK- Tristan the Travel Bug Visits London. Каждый находит ответ на свой вопрос, после просмотра , давая по порядку ответы на вопросы, восстанавливают содержание, при этом строят предложения в Past Simple)
