План-конспект урока английского языка в 10 классе по теме “Earth Alert!”

Дата: 21.12.2018

Класс: 10 А (базовый уровень)

Цель:  развитие иноязычной коммуникативной компетенции (речевой, языковой, учебно-познавательной) по тематике экологических проблем.

Основные методы и приемы:

  • технология проблемного обучения;

  • групповая работа;

  • технология сотрудничества.

Оборудование: раздаточный материал по теме, доска, презентация, видеоролик.

Ход урока:

  1. Приветствие.

T: Good morning boys and girls, I am glad to see you sit down please

SS: Good morning teacher

T: Today we are having visitors at lesson, so it will be an unusual lesson. Look at the blackboard please. На доске эпиграф к уроку: "Mankind won`t die in a nuclear nightmare, it will suffocate in their own waste”(Niels Bohr).

So, what do you think?

Who is Niels Bohr? What he is famous for?

Why did he say the words like this? Do you agree with this statement? Why?

Very well. You are totally right. So, what are we going to talk about today?

SS: - Ecological problems; 
- How to protect nature; 

T:What is the aim of our lesson today?

SS: to discuss about ecology and ecological problems

To change with each other opinions

To think how can we protect our region

T: To sum up, we can say that the aim of our lesson today is to discuss ecological problems in English.

T: At the beginning of the lesson we’re going to watch a video (длительность 3мин). But be ready to answer the questions: Why our planet is in danger now? What is the greenhouse effect? What happens with the oceans, weather, food and our health?

T: So many problems. But today we are going to speak about the most serious environmental problems and try to find the ways to save our planet. Tell me please how can we safe our planet?

SS: clean houses, not to pollute, not to put rubbish everywhere

T:That’s great but we should remember about The GOLDEN RULE of 3RS:

  • Reduce

  • Reuse

  • Recycle

What can we reduce?

SS: amount of water, energy consumption, water, old towels, glass, plastic etc.

T: Which of these things do you do in your everyday life? Make up 2-3 sentences using this words. You have 2 minutes to do this task

SS: I always switch off the lights when I leave room so as to reduce energy consumption

T: So, who is ready? Great, well done. Right now, Let’s work in pairs. Open our books on the page number 68 and look at the exercise number 1. You have to match the sentences (1-7) with their meanings (A-G). You have 5 minutes to do this task. Then change you answers to each other, check it, give marks to each other for it.

It’s time to relax, relax your shoulders, legs, arms, close your eyes and listen to the sounds

What have you just imagined?

SS: birds, forest, nature….

T: Look at the screen: here you have different signs, explain the signs using modal verbs, you have to choose one and make up a sentence with it.

Well done, but right now let’s divide into 3 groups, you have to be a team, imagine that you are an organization in our region that protects nature and ecology of Tambov area, think about a name of organization, what kind of it would be(you would protect animal, forests or river) make up a plan of your volunteer work and one of the students will give a presentation of your group. Is it clear? You have 5 minutes to do this task.

What presentation did you like most of all?

Well today we have spoken about ecological problems and what else have we done today? Great . This team is the winner so I give you excellent marks for today and right now look at the screen your hometask is to wirte for and against essay.
