The procedure of the lesson

Organizational moment.(5min)

Greetings with pupils, working with class register, dividing the class into 2 groups.



Objective: Pre-teach video material: using multi-media

Activity 1Listen and sing(5 min)

Ask the pupils to listen to the song and sing it. Note: Don’t worry if the pupils cannot sing everything. It’s OK if they sing some lines or even just some words.

DVD script:

It’s my house, it’s my home!(2 times)

It’s my living room, I watch TV.

It’s my bedroom, I play with my toys.

It’s my bathroom, I wash my teeth.

It’s my kitchen, I have my lunch.

It’s my house, it’s my home!(2 times)


Main procedure of the lesson


Activity 2a Objectives: to introduce the new vocabulary(5min)

Ask pupils to watch and learn new words through songs vocabulary.

Activity 2b Objective: Play “What’s in the kitchen?”( 5 min)


Ask the pupils to work in pairs. Explain that to do activity 2b, they should use the pictures of the house in lesson 1.

Pupil A asks a question about a room, as shown in the example. Pupil B finds the room in the picture and answers

Pupil A’s question using the structure “There’s a….”




Activity 3a Objectives: to reinforce the newly learnt words(10 min)


STEP 1: Ask the pupil to work in pairs. Give small pieces of paper to the pupils. Ask them to draw a door, a window, a chair, a table, a bath, a cooker, a fridge, a toilet.

STEP 2: Demonstrate what to do. Pupil A dictates for example, The table is under the window. Pupil B must listen and put the “furniture” in the right places. Then they change the roles.

Activity 3b Objective: to reinforce the preposition learnt so far.(10 min)



STEP 1: Ask the pupils to look at the picture. Ask: “Where are the boys? Where is the boy? Where is the bag?

STEP 2: Divide the class into 4 groups. Tell the pupils that now they will play a similar game.







Reading procedure

Activity 4 Objectives: to read for detailed information.(5 min)


Ask the pupils to open their Workbook on Page15, look at the text and the pictures in Activity4. Explain that all the pupils sitting on your left must read and underline the sentences which belong to the Picture A, and all pupils sitting on your right must read and underline the sentences which belong the Picture B.






Optional Activity 5 Play “Listen and guess”(10min)

Pupil A: “There’s a table. There’re 2 chairs. There’s a vase on the table.”

Pupil B: “It’s a living room.”

Ask the pupils to look at the picture of the house.

Ask the pupils to look at the homework1. Check that everybody understand what to do.
