Панки

"Punk's not dead!"(Панк не умеp!)- к этой очень pасхожей в панковских кpугах фpазе, многие добавляют:"...it's just smells like" (...он только так пахнет), что как нельзя точно отpажает pеальность

Скинхеды

Первые «скинхэды» в последствии стали отдавать предпочтение американской одежде «Levi Jeans» и «Alpha Flight Jackets» и узким подтяжкам (braces) с ботинками «Doc Marten». С расцветом футбольного хулиганства в употребление вошли темно-зеленые ветровки «Alpha Flight Jackets» (называемые также «MA1», «Flight Jacket» или «Bomber Jacket»), позволявшие легко выскальзывать из рук соперников. Так одевались в дни футбола, а на концерты и на улице носили обычные куртки, часто джинсовки, черные подтяжки и черные шнурки. Это ужесточение стиля одежды заметно повлияло на интерес рабочего класса к «скинхедам».

Хиппи

   Субкультура хиппи – одна из старейших молодежных субкультур

Байкеры

Байкеры (от англ. bicycle – сокр. bike) – мотоциклисты особый, претендующий на элитарность мир мужского братства, как и уход в виртуальный мир, – можно рассматривать как своеобразный эскапизм .

Моды

«Моды» (mods) — это не только музыкальный стиль, но и определенное движение, образ жизни и манера одеваться, порожденная подростковой культурой Британии начала 60-х.

Рейверы

  Субкультура рэйверов (rave – англ. бред, бессвязная речь) возникает в 80 гг. в США и Великобритании.

Неотъемлемая часть рэйверского стиля жизни — ночные дискотеки с мощным звуком, компьютерной графикой, лучами лазеров. Для одежды рэйверов характерны яркие краски и использование искусственных материалов (винил, пластик ).

Готы

Гот - подвид панка "с темнотой и зловещей эстетикой, выделяющейся одеждой и косметикой и весьма определенными музыкальными вкусами ".

Define cultural groupings

• The members of this subculture wear the blackest black, with a lot of silver jewellery . They read
• Bram Stoker and talk about vampires and about the end of the world.
• These people use drugs, rock and roll and differ from all social norms. They don/t conform to society’s standards and support a liberal attitude and a lifestyle.
• They wear a leather jacket, army boots, and a cowboy hat just to show off. They are associated with something rebellious.
• These people dress themselves in a shocking way to express their identity. They have brightly coloured hair, and wear metal chains. The music is aggressive. They reject everything.
• They are the folks who use computer-made music and drugs to create massive all-nights dance parties. They want to try out all sorts of options.

Music Styles

• These free-form improvisation appeard in about 1966.
• This is the most important form of West Indian music.
• This music began in the UK and was thought to be aggressive.
• It began in the early 1950s in the USA. In the mid-1950s it became the central part of teenage rebellion in the West.
• This music is made on computers and performed by deejays instead of old- fashioned bands.

Most young people choose a certain life style within their subculture. Why do they do it?

To express themselves/myself to develop their/my own

style distinct from others

To show off to know who they are

To support a ….. attitude and lifestyle to change the world

To try out all sort of options to protest against the parents

To rebel against the society to reject everything

To be in a collective to conform to society’s standards

To be designed to shock to differ from social norms

To have their/my own values and beliefs to show rebellion against the society
