T: Good morning, children.
P: Good morning, teacher.
T: I’m glad to see you.
P: We are glad to see you too.
T: Thank you, take seats. I’m fine today. And how are you?
P: I’m fine/nice/great/good/OK, thank you.

T: Children, what would you like to do at the lesson today?
P: I’d like to get an excellent mark/ sing songs/ play funny games/do some activities/do physical exercise/ read texts/ answer the questions/ learn new words/ watch a video at the lesson today.
T: Well-done. And I’d like you to be brilliant and active pupils at the lesson today. I’d like to start our lesson with a video. Watch the video and guess the key word of our lesson.

T: What is the key word of our lesson?
P: Holidays.
T: Right you are (переворачивает карточку). Look at the board and guess the title of our lesson.
P: We love holidays.
T: How clever you are. The title of our lesson is “We love holidays.” I love holidays very much. Do you love holidays?
P: Yes, we do.
T: We have a special guest at our lesson who loves holidays too. Look at the photo. This is Clare Douglas. She is from Great Britain. Let’s say hello to Clare.
P: Hello, Clare.
T: But Clare knows nothing about holidays in Russia. And she would like you to tell her about Russian holidays. And the goal of our lesson is to tell her about our favourite holidays (вешает карточку с целью урока). Children, what should we do to achieve our goal?
P: revise the words; revise the names of the holidays; do projects.
T: How brilliant you are. We should revise the words on our topic, revise the names of the holidays and do projects (вешает карточки) and then tell Clare about holidays.

T: Children, Clare’s favourite holiday is St Valentine’s Day. Let’s sing a song for her “If you love me and you know it.”

T: Very good, thank you. Clare liked your singing and she has prepared a word game for you. Match the words and the pictures (раздаёт карточки с заданием). Who would like to do the task at the board? You have 2 minutes.

T: It’s time to check.

T: Good job. Clare liked your work so much. Now fill in the self-assessment cards. Tick in the right column (показывает листы самооценки) – succeed, not sure, failed.

T: Children, you know a lot of words about holidays. And do you know the names of the holidays and their symbols? Look at the screen. Clare has prepared a presentation for you. Name the holiday and its symbol (показывает презентацию). What holiday is it? What is its symbol?

T: Well-done. I think you are ready to do projects about your favourite holidays. What is the name of your favourite holiday?
P: Easter/ Women’s Day/ New Year.
T: Good. Do your projects. You have everything you need. Work in groups. You have 7 minutes.
P: (выполняют проекты)
T: Time is up. I need a volunteer from each group. In turn say a word about holidays. Who says more words he or she is a winner and their group will be the first to present the project to Clare.

T: You have been brilliant and active pupils at the lesson today. Look at your self-assessment cards. Circle the marks. 3 ticks in “succeed” is a “5”, 2 ticks is a “4”. And 3 ticks in “failed” is a “3”.
