занятия по английскому языку

Тема: Планируя путешествие

Цели:

  • образовательная: способствовать совершенствованию коммуникативных навыков учащихся по теме через различные виды речевой деятельности;

  • развивающая: развивать познавательную активность, умения сбора и анализа необходимой информации, языковую догадку;

  • воспитательная: воспитывать стремление познавать мир, формировать навыки сотрудничества, повышать мотивацию к изучению английского языка.

Сопутствующие задачи: совершенствование навыков чтения, восприятия и понимания речи на слух, письменной речи; создание условий для формирования навыков устной речи по теме «Путешествие и туризм» в форме обсуждения и дискуссии.

Межпредметная связь: география, литература.

Оборудование: мобильные телефоны, наушники, видеоролик «Why do people travel?», проекты учащихся, карточки с заданиями, регистрационная карта отеля.

Ход занятия:

I. Организационный момент

- Hello, my dear friends! Nice to see you again! Sit down, please!

- Who is on duty today? Who is absent today? What date is it today?

- How are you today? 

- I am glad you are fine! Let’s start our English lesson. Today we continue to speak about tourism and travelling.

II. Речевая зарядка

- Read these sentences and translate into Russian. Do you agree with these statements? What statement do you like best? Why?

"The world is a book and those who do not travel read only one page." St. Augustine

"He, who travels far, knows much.” John Clarke

III. Целеполагание

- It is very good for you. So, planning a holiday is a very important task. It includes a number of steps, which should be followed only in the correct order. Let’s discuss our trip plan together.

(учащиеся выстраивают логическую последовательность шагов по планированию путешествия)

  • Define the aim of a trip;

  • Visit a travel agency and choose a country;

  • Choose means of transport;

  • Pack a suitcase;

  • Check in the hotel.

- Do you always follow these steps planning your trip?

IV. Совершенствование навыков восприятия и понимания речи на слух

- Travelling and tourism is an important part of people’s life. Today people have lots of good reasons and opportunities to travel as much as they never had before. Why do you travel?

- to broaden the mind about various countries

- to make new friends with foreigners

- to touch upon the world’s culture

- to develop the sense of patriotism

- to practice the skills of foreign languages

- to get new life experience

- to something new every day

- to eat new exotic food

- to get education in foreign countries

V. Контроль домашнего задания

- Nowadays there are so many ways and means of travelling and sometimes tourists cannot decide where to go and what to see. Your home task was to prepare presentations about the country you would like to visit. Are you ready?

- Dear guests! Welcome to our Tour Agency. I am a manager of our tour agency and these are my agents. Our tour agents have prepared some information about Australia, the USA, Great Britain and Belarus. They have done small booklets of sights of these countries.

(учащиеся демонстрируют проекты, подготовленные дома)

- What are associations with these countries? What country would you like to go?

VI. Совершенствование навыков чтения

- The next step is choosing means of transport. How can we travel?

- We're going to read the texts. Guess the method of travelling and speak about its advantages and disadvantages.

(учащиеся читают тексты на карточках (по одной карточке с текстом на парте), отгадывают способ передвижения, называют его преимущества и недостатки)

  1. It is the quickest way of traveling. It can take you from one town or city to another in no time. The seats are comfortable. That's a pity, but you can see very little from the windows. Things are too small to be seen. When the weather is rainy or foggy, you can't travel by it. (by plane)

  2. This way of traveling is quick. You can stop at any place you like and go where you like. You need no tickets. Usually families travel by it. (by car)

  3. This is the slowest way of traveling. Both young and old people like it. You needn’t tickets. The only thing you need is a bag. You can visit many places in such a way. (on foot)

  4. This way of traveling is quick. It is very pleasant to travel in this way. The seats are comfortable. You can see a lot of interesting things from the windows. You can make long journeys on land by it. (by train)

  5. This way of traveling is not so fast. Some people enjoy traveling by it .But others don't like it at all. Usually people travel in this way in summer, when they are on holidays. You can see waves and seagulls. (by ship)

VII. Активизация лексического материала

- What dangerous things can a tourist come across?

- What must a tourist remember about starting for the South? What preparations are necessary to be made before a journey (clothes, food, etc.)?

- What must a tourist remember about starting for the North? What preparations are necessary to be made before a journey (clothes, food, etc.)?

- What must a tourist do to avoid danger?

- Here are things necessary for traveling – one for traveling in the South, and the other – for traveling in the North. Choose necessary things for your trip. Work in groups.

(учащиеся делятся на две группы: путешествующие на Север, путешествующие на Юг; выбирают из списка предложенных вещей, те которые им понадобятся в поездке)

VIII. Совершенствование навыков письменной речи

- And the finish step is arrival at the hotel. Your hotel cards must be filled in immediately on your arrival.

- Our lesson is coming to the end. I want you to summarize what interesting and useful things you have learnt on this lesson today. What new facts have you learnt on this lesson? What stages of the lesson did you like most of all? What was difficult for you? What skills did you improve?
