The Main Food Groups Fruits & Vegetables: Give us vitamins and energy. (e.g., apples, carrots) Grains: Give us energy. (e.g., bread, rice, pasta) Protein: Helps our muscles grow. (e.g., meat, fish, eggs, beans) Dairy: Makes our bones strong. (e.g., milk, cheese, yogurt)
