• Неопределённый артикль a\an употребляется только с существительными в единственном числе, которые можно сосчитать, если лицо или предмет, обозначаемые этим словом, впервые упоминается в разговоре ( в тексте).

• Определённый артикль the употребляется с существительными как в единственном, так и во множественном числе, если лицо или предмет,

обозначаемые этим словом, уже упоминались ранее.
