The United States

of America is the

fourth largest

country in the

world (after

Russia, Canada

and China).

It is washed by the Pacific Ocean in the west and the Atlantic Ocean and the Gulf of Mexico in the east.

The flag of the United States of America is called “Stars and Stripes”. There are three colors on the flag- red, white and blue. Americans are proud of their flag and display it in many places

One of the famous symbols of the USA is the Statue of Liberty.

The Statue of Liberty was put up in New York in 1886. It was a gift from the French government to the United States. She symbolizes a welcome to a land of freedom.

Here is the Mount Rushmore Memorial.

The faces of Mount Rushmore are the heads of Washington, Jefferson, Lincoln and Roosevelt.

The White house

The White House is the beautiful home of every President of the United States. This is the oldest public building in Washington D.C. It has the most famous address -1600 Pennsylvania Avenue. Consist of 132 rooms. Open for tours daily: 9.00 a. m- 3. 45 p.m

Niagara falls

Niagara Falls are located on the border between Canada and the USA. Niagara Falls are not very high (53 metres) but very wide. Every year thousands of people visit this place.

The Grand Canyon

The Grand Canyon is one of the deepest canyons in the world. Its depth is 1800 metres. It is located in Arizona on the territory of the national park. The Grand Canyon is a very picturesque place. Every year thousands of tourists come here.

It is known as the home of the US film industry. A lot of film production studios are located here.
