A tropical plant with groups of bright red leaves that look like flowers.
Christmas tree
A real or artificial fir tree that is decorated and kept in the home at Christmas.

A small piece of snow that falls from the sky.
Christmas pudding
A sweet, dark food containing dried fruit, eaten at the end of the meal in some countries at Christmas.
Tinsel
Long pieces of thin, shiny material used as decoration, especially at Christmas.
Bauble
A ball-shaped Christmas decoration for hanging on a tree.
Gingerbread house
Confectionery shaped like a building that is made of cookie dough, cut and baked into appropriate components like walls and roofing.
Advent calendar
A decorative piece of card or cloth with a small space or window for each of the days of the month before Christmas. Each day a space or window is opened to find a different picture, a piece of chocolate, or a present.
Baby Jesus
The holy child, who is the son of God.
Nativity scene
A set of figures displayed at Christmas as an artistic representation of the birth of Jesus Christ.
The Magi
In the Bible, the three men, thought to be kings or astrologers, who followed a star to visit Jesus Christ when he was a baby and give him presents. They are also called the Three Kings or the Three Wise Men.
Shooting star
A piece of rock from space that produces a bright light as it travels through the earth's atmosphere.
