Since the 19th century, time control has been used. Initially, it was carried out using an hourglass, later, in 1883, the Englishman Thomas Bright Wilson designed mechanical chess watches [14], which after a series of modifications by the beginning of the 20th century took on a modern look: two clockworks, alternately switched on by pressing one of two buttons. The player’s time elapses when the small red hand (“flag”) is raised by the minute hand of the clock. The concepts of “time pressure”, “time loss”, “blitz”, “play on a flag”, the possibility of a draw in the best game situation, but with worse time, appeared in the game.
