• Learner’s characteristic :
• Manju is a female student from India with Hindi as her mother tongue. She started learning English conventionally at school, however the lessons were kept at a low level due to the abilities of her groupmates. Later, she practiced speaking together with her friends, who were native English speakers. This resulted in her having exceptional pronunciation, communication skills and vocabulary in an informal setting, but also poor writing skills, including lack of knowledge about formal writing structures and vocabulary. Manju is a talented student who is also highly intelligent, however she greatly prefers group lessons as she finds individual learning dull.
• Proficiency level: B1+

Duration of the course — 24 months, two times a week for first 12 months and one time a week for the rest 12 months, 1-hour classes = 163 hours

Goals – By the end of the course the learner will learn conventions of English script and punctuation, structures of academic writing, know professional medical vocabulary and will be able to communicate in a formal academic environment. The learner’s goal is to pursue a career in the medical sphere.
