The forest is the complex ecological system which includes plants, animals, fungi and microorganisms.

People use the forest as building material, food, medicine, a raw material for the paper and chemical industry. Trees manufacture oxygen by absorbing carbon dioxide. The forest is the place where a lot of animals inhabit. Moreover, Forest areas protect soil from erosion.

Annually the tropical forests of Africa and South America and the coniferous forests of the central Russia are being destroyed. Valuable pine and cedar forests are being cutting down. The disappearance of forests is the global environmental problem. A lot of deforested areas have become deserts due to soil washing.

Forests are also being cutting down because of mineral output, agricultural reasons and to obtain wood.

The standards of judicious forest resource use should be developed in order to stop forest destruction. Tree transplanting often does not cover the damage, provoked by cutting down the forest. In South America, South Africa and Southeastern Asia the forest areas continue to be reduced. In order to decrease the damage from the cutting down, it is necessary: to increase the territories of planting out; to develop effective measures in order to prevent forest fires; to guard forests from the Illegal activity; to develop the methods of wood reworking.

The person cannot live without the nature, he is its major part. At the same time it is difficult to imagine our civilization without products that the forest gives us. Moreover, the forest affects the culture and customs of different ethnic group, it is the source of their subsistence.
