Организационный Warming-up activities T: Hello, children! Glad to see you! Sit down!

T: How are you today?

S: I am well, thank you.


1. Мотивирование к учебной деятельности и целеполагание (ассоциации: русские и английские поговорки)

T: I want to ask you one question. What is the first thing you do in the morning? As for me firstly I look out of my window. Can you guess WHY?

S: to see what the weather is like today.

T: And so what are we going to speak about today?

S: about the weather (Cлайд 1)

T: You are right. You know that the British people enjoy talking about the weather. There are a lot of sayings related to the weather. Look at the screen and match the English and Russian sayings: (Cлайд 2)

  • 1. After a storm comes a calm.

  • 2. A wise man carries his cloak in fair weather, and a fool wants his in rain.

3. Into each life some rain must fall.

4. When it rains, it pours.

5. Little rain stills a great wind.

  • 6. Hoist your sail when the wind is fair.

  • 7. When the thunder is very loud, there's very little rain.

1) You said that we should work with words. So take card № 1. Let’s revise the words.___ you are the leading reader.

2) Please take card № 2. In pairs complete the spidergram with as many words as possible related to weather. You have 2 minutes.

3) We’ll continue working with words. Open your books on p. 80 ex. 5. ____ read the task, please. Is it clear for you? You have 3 minutes for this task.

4) As we know the weather is the favourite topic of small talks in the UK. Let’s listen to such exchanges and try to match sentences. Look through ex. 9 on p.81 and be ready for listening. Check yourselves: (1e, 2d, 3g, 4a, 5b, 6f, 7c) (Cлайд 5). How many mistakes have you done, ____? And you?


5) relaxing. Do you know that the weather sometimes make noise? ___, read the task of ex.7 on p.81. (карандаши)

Yes, it was that way in the past. And now you can just listen to the weather forecast on TV or find it in the Internet. For example: видео


4. Этап открытия нового знания

And now I want you to make your own weather forecast in our region for the next week. Card (Получают карточки с гисметео – Югорск, Советский, Ханты-Мансийск). Look around! There are some bus stops in the classroom. I want you to divide into 3 groups. Each group stands near its bus stop, read the question, write the answer and goes to the next bus stop. When students return to their place they sum up all material and present it to the class.


Questions:

  • What is the weather going to be next week in Yugorsk? (Sovetskiy, Khanty-Mansiysk) (changeable, variable, sunny, cold, cool, rainy, snowy, nasty, agreeable, a bit nippy…)

  • What temperatures are expected to be at daytime and at nights? (… degrees above zero; … degrees below zero)

  • Will the clouds bring some rain or snow? What days of the week?

  • What days will it be cloudy, sunny, frosty?
