PBL - is a model for classroom activity that shifts away from the usual classroom practices of short, isolated, teacher-centered lessons.

PBL – is a method of teaching that presents students with a problem or challenges to solve, requires them to gather information from various resources, and asks them to come up with an original solution that ends in a product or performance.

PBL – is a systematic teaching method that engaged students in learning important knowledge and 21^st century skills through an extended, student influenced inquiry process structured around complex, authentic questions and carefully designed products and learning tasks.

The Essential Question – is central to the inquiry process and comes before deciding on project activities. The question should be provocative, open-ended, complex, and linked to the core of what you want students to learn.

Inquiry based learning - is a form of active learning that starts by posing questions, problems or scenarios—rather than simply presenting established facts or portraying a smooth path to knowledge

The authentic task - is the work that students will do complete to help them better understand and respond to the question.

Authentic assessment usually includes a task for students to perform and a rubric by which their performance on the task will be evaluated

Brainstorming - Process for generating creative ideas and solutions through intensive and freewheeling group discussion.

Collaboration - the action of working with someone to produce something
