  1. PBL - is a model for classroom activity that shifts away from the usual classroom practices of short, isolated, teacher-centered lessons.

  2. PBL – is a method of teaching that presents students with a problem or challenges to solve, requires them to gather information from various resources, and asks them to come up with an original solution that ends in a product or performance.

  3. PBL – is a systematic teaching method that engaged students in learning important knowledge and 21st century skills through an extended, student influenced inquiry process structured around complex, authentic questions and carefully designed products and learning tasks.

  4. The Essential Question – is central to the inquiry process and comes before deciding on project activities. The question should be provocative, open-ended, complex, and linked to the core of what you want students to learn.

  5. Inquiry based learning - is a form of active learning that starts by posing questions, problems or scenarios—rather than simply presenting established facts or portraying a smooth path to knowledge

  6. The authentic task - is the work that students will do complete to help them better understand and respond to the question.

  7. Authentic assessment usually includes a task for students to perform and a rubric by which their performance on the task will be evaluated

  8. Brainstorming - Process for generating creative ideas and solutions through intensive and freewheeling group discussion.

  9. Collaboration - the action of working with someone to produce something
