Челябинск – мой город

Chelyabinsk is the capital of the South Urals. It is located in the northern part of the Chelyabinsk Region. Its population is 1,200,000 people. Chelyabinsk is an industrial and cultural centre of Russia. Its plants and factories produce tractors, tubes, metal, and food products.

Chelyabinsk has a great past. It was a small fortress in 1736. Now it is 281 years old. Today it has become a big city.

If you come to Chelyabinsk, you’ll see wide streets, old and modern housed and green parks.

The main sights of the city are: the Revolution Square, Kirovka, Gagarin park, Pushkin City park and others.

Chelyabinsk has theatres, concert halls, cinemas and museums. You can see the famous meteorite in the Museum of Local History.
