China

Hallo! I am ... I am from China. The birthday child greets his parents and gets a gift of money. Friends and relatives come to lunch and wish the birthday child a long life.

People celebrate their birthdays on Tet (New Year Day). The Vietnamese don’t know the exact day they were born. Children say they were born in the year of the symbol of the lunar calendar for that year.

Holland

HI! My name is Bob. I am from Holland

The 5th, 10th, 15th, 20th, and 21st birthdays are called "crown" years. The birthday child gets a large gift on a crown-year birthday. The family also decorates the birthday child’s chair at the dining-room table with flowers and balloons.

Germany

German children are never given any homework on their birthdays.

Parents wake up early in the morning and light the  birthday candles at sunrise. There are as many candles as the age of the child plus one for good luck. The candles are kept burning all day long. The birthday child blows off the candles after dinner that night. The wish of the person comes true if all the candles are blown out at one go.

Denmark

Parents flow a flag outside a window .They show that their child has a birthday today. They put the presents around the bed while the child is sleeping.
