It`s a fact that every country has its own social etiquette. People should know local customs and rules of polite behaviour. And it doesn`t matter if you live in this country or just visit it as a tourist.
The British are famous for their language, sense of humour and, of course, politeness. So, when you are in the UK. Make sure you respect the social etiquette which also includes some rules of making a conversation.
Which answer is the hardest to give YES or NO?
Speaking about communication we have to admit that people in all countries always ask somebody about or for something. And there are so many questions that can be answered YES or NO. Which answer is really the hardest to give?
Saying NO is the hardest thing for us
There is no doubt that saying NO is usually the hardest thing for some people. Because we really don`t want to make people upset. But you should know how to say NO in different situations because sometimes it is actually necessary . There are some ways of saying NO in the UK.
Formal way of saying NO
- I would like to refuse (in writing)
- I appreciate the offer, but …
- I`m sorry, but …
Casual way of saying NO
- Absolutely not (definitely don`t want)
- By no means (the strongest way)
Slang way of saying NO
- Nope/ Nah/Uh-Uh
- I ain`t happening (definitely not)
- No way, JOSE (funny way, usually for friends)
- Hell no (absolutely the strongest way)

Your teacher asks you to come to school on Sunday, but you really can`t . You should say:
