THE CONTEST “SAINT VALENTINE’S DAY”

My dear friends we’ve gathered here today to celebrate St. Valentine’s Day. We’ve got three teams and we’ll see which team knows more about the holiday. Here are some contests for you.

1. Here are three hearts with many words on them. Which words can be connected with the holiday? Your task is to find them in the heart.

2. This task is a bit more difficult, but the idea is the same as in the first task. You are given the words connected with the holiday, find them in the grid and circle them.

3. Solve the Valentine’s Day crossword.

4. Having done these tasks you revise many Valentine’s words. Now you will show how you can use them. You know, if you want to be a good husband or a wife in the future, you should know sweet words to tell your partner. And now you should name all the sweet words you know.

5. Well, you are speaking about love, but what do you think love is like? Continue the phrase “Love is…”

6. Now I see you know what love is, but what well-known lovers pairs can you name?

7. Very often people speak about love in poems. In order to write a poem you should know how to rhyme words, so you have a chance to practice in rhyming.

8. And now you will write poems!

9. Sometimes we can’t just talk about love, we must show it. Try to mime these words to other teams so that they can name them.

10. You should say these tongue twisters as quick as possible.

11. And now we shall see how many words you will be able to make out of this one: HONEYMOON.

12. Do you think it’s time to talk about your love. Think of what you’ll say to your sweethearts.

13. Each team should draw a portrait of a dream girl or boy. But you should do it without seeing what you are drawing.
