The Past Simple (Indefinite) Tense

Употребляется для обозначения действий, которые произошли в прошлом.

Типичные обстоятельства времени: yesterday, last …, … ago, then, once, in …, lоng ago, etc.

Исключение: глагол to be в ед.числе – was, во мн.числе – were.
