По своей функции в речи союзы делятся на сочинительные и подчинительные.

Сочинительные союзы

Both… and – используется для соединения подлежащих двух предложений в одном предложении с утвердительным значением. В таких предложениях глагол употребляется во множественном числе:

Both his mother and his father are good swimmers.

И его мама, и его папа хорошие пловцы.

Neither… nor – используется для соединения подлежащих двух предложений в одном предложении с отрицательным значением. В этом предложении глагол всегда употребляется в утвердительной форме (т.к. в английском языке возможно только одно отрицание) и согласуется в числе со вторым подлежащим.

Neither my sister nor my brothers like milk.

Ни моя сестра, ни мои братья не любят молоко.

Either… or – используется для соединения подлежащих двух предложений в одном предложении с утвердительным значением. Глагол согласуется в числе со вторым подлежащим.

Either Pete or Bill knows this man.

Или Пит, или Билл знает этого человека.

1) Fill in the gaps and complete the sentences. Use either... or, neither... nor, both... and.

Model: I drink ... coffee ... hot chocolate. — I drink neither coffee nor hot chocolate.

2) Complete the sentences with the correct form of the verb.
