The PRESENT CONTINUOUS TENSE

The PRESENT CONTINUOUS TENSE Ներկա շարունակական

Present Continuous is used to show an action happening now.

It is formed- am, is, are+ verb +ing

The Adverbs (Հուշող բառեր)

• Now
• At the moment

I am reading now.

She is speaking at the moment.

Interrogative ( հարցական)

• We make questions by putting  am ,  is  or  are  in front of the  subject :

E.g.

Are  you   listening? Are  they   coming to your party?

Negative (Ժխտական)

• We make negatives by putting  not   after  am ,  is  or  are :

E.g

I am  not   doing that. You   are not  listening.

Is not-isn’t

Are not- aren’t

We do not normally use the continuous  with verbs of senses, feelings  

Believe հավատալ

Know իմանալ

Love սիրել

Hate ատել ing

Understand հասկանալ

Want ցանկանալ

Wish ցանկանալ

Smell բուրել

e.g.  I understand you.  (NOT  I  am understanding  you. )

This cake smells wonderful.  (NOT  This cake is smelling  wonderful. )
