Конструкция to be going to do является одним из способов выражения будущего времени и употребляется для того, чтобы показать, что решение уже принято и имеется намерение что-то сделать.

Jack is going to sell his car. Джек собирается продать машину.

Look at the sky! It’s going to rain. Посмотри на небо! Вот-вот пойдет дождь.
