Present Continuous.

Следующие несколько упражнений подойдут для 3 – 4 класса.

Упражнение 1. Write the -ing forms of these words. (Правила прибавления окончания ing.)

Упражнение 2. Заполни таблицу.

Упражнение 3. Read what a boy is saying. Write in am, is or are.

1. A)

I'm in the park. I can see some children. They ____ playing volleyball. There's my friend Greg! He ____ reading a book. The girl ____ eating a sandwich. The boy and the dog ____ playing with a ball. They can't see me because I ____ sitting in a tree. What ___ you doing? ____ you listening to me?

B)

1. Look! The children ____ jumping.

2. The cat ____ sleeping now.

3. My friend and I ____ not dancing now.

4. Dave ___ reading now.

5. Look! I ___ swimming.

Упражнение 4. Write the words in the ing-form form.

Feed, walk, wash, play, do

1. Can I speak to Brad, please? I'm sorry, he's _________ his pet now.

2. Can I speak to Paul, please? I'm sorry, he's _________ his homework now.

3. What about Kelly? No, sorry, she's _________ her pet in the park now.

Упражнение 5. Make up negative sentences in Present Progressive.

• the sofa / Sam / is / on / not / sitting.

• Are / playing / not / the cats.

• cooking / Mother / not / my / is

• Reading / friends / her / are / not

Упражнение 6. Make up questions.

• now / Tom / coffee  / is / drinking?

• playing / Now / the / boys / are?

• the / skipping / girl / now / is?

• the / eating / fish / cats / are?

Эти упражнения на Present Progressive по сложности рассчитаны на 5 класс.

Упражнение 7. Вставьте подходящий глагол в ing-овой форме.

Упражнение 8. Составьте предложения в Present Continuous.

1. in the classroom / am / I / standing  /now.

2. Pete / reading / not  / a book /  now / is.

3. listening  / now / the pupils /are  / to the teacher.

Упражнение 9.

1. a) Make up sentences.

Example: Raymond (play) is playing now.

1) Kate (read) a book.

2) Bobby and Jenifer (watch) TV now

3) Look! The friendly dog (play) with the scared cat!

4) It's six o'clock. Calvin’s parents (drink) tea.

1. b) Make up questions to the sentences.

Example: Is Raymond playing now?

с) Make up negative sentences.

Raymond is not playing now.

Упражнение 10. Дополните предложение, используя слова, данные в скобках.

1. Why ________ (you / look) at me like that?

2. Jen is a student at a university. Is he? What ________ (he / study)?

3. How is your Japanese? (it / get) _______________ better?

4. I'm tired. I _______ (go) to bed now. Goodnight!

Упражнение 11. Переведите предложения на русский язык.

1. Mary is drinking coffee and listening to music.

2. Mike is telling a story.

3. She is writing a letter.

4. Ann is working very hard.

5. The cat is eating its supper.

Перестройте предложения так, чтобы они стали вопросительными и отрицательными.

Для 6 класса подойдут следующие упражнения на Present Continuous.

Упражнение 12. Подберите подходящий глагол и поставьте его в форму Present Continuous.

Упражнение 13.

1. Read about the people working in the office.

Lillian is talking on the phone at the moment, and Sam and Carla are looking at some posters. Benny is reading a report. Bruce and Loretta are working on their computers, and Ed is doing some photocopying.

b) What are they doing in the office? Ask and answer.

• Benny / work / on his computer?

• Bruce and Loretta / talk on the phone?

• Ed / do /some photocopying?

• Lillian /read / I a report?

• Sam and Carla / look / at some posters?

Example:

Is Benny working on his computer? – No, he isn’t. He's reading a report.

c) What are the people in the office doing? Can you remember? Ask and answer.

1. What / Bruce and Loretta / do?

2. What / Sam and Carla / look at?

4. What / Lillian / do?

5. What / Benny / read?

Example:

What are Bruce and Loretta doing? They're working on their computers.

Упражнение 14. Where are you now? What is happening? Complete the questions. Give true answers.

• The sun / shine?

Example:

Are you studying at home now? Yes I am or No, I'm not

(b) What are your family and friends doing now? Write some sentences.

Examples:

My brother and his wife are working.

My friend Astrid is playing tennis.
