Christmas Day
Christmas Day is a public holiday in many countries worldwide, including Australia, Canada, the United Kingdom and the United States. Government offices, educational institutions, many businesses and post offices are closed on this day. If you plan to travel with public transport, check with the local transport authority on schedule changes.
Valentine's Day
VALENTINE’S DAY IS the day of love. On February 14, more than any other day of the year, romantic couples shower their better half with gifts and tokens of appreciation.
Much about Valentine’s Day is well known. The handwritten cards, chocolate hearts, and red roses are all staples of the annual tradition, recognized easily at any convenience store.
Mother's Day
Mother’s Day is a day for many people to show their appreciation towards mothers and mother figures worldwide. It is an annual event but is held at different dates in the calendar, depending on the country.
There are many different ways to celebrate Mother’s Day. They include (but are not limited to):
Giving cards, flowers, or cakes.
Family gatherings or visits.
Family breakfasts, brunches, lunches, and dinners either at home, at a café or at a restaurant.
Easter
Easter is the celebration of the resurrection of Jesus from the tomb on the third day after his cruxifixion. Learn more about the real meaning of Easter including the history and holiday symbols like easter eggs, the bunny, and lilies.
St. Patrick’s Day
St. Patrick’s Day observes of the death of St. Patrick, the patron saint of Ireland. The holiday has evolved into a celebration of Irish culture with parades, special foods, music, dancing, drinking and a whole lot of green.
Victory Day
Many Russians celebrate Victory Day on May 9. On this day, TV networks broadcast World War II-inspired films, younger generations honor veterans, and the festivities culminate in a military parade at Moscow’s Red Square.
