Home assignment

  • Answer the questions:

  1. 1. What are you going to be?

  2. 2. What is your mother?

  3. 3. What is your father?

1. Read new words in the sentences on the blackboard. Deduce the meanings of the words.

2. Have you read the book “Harriet the Spy” by L.Fitzhugh?

Read the conversation from this book and say what Sport is going to be?

  • Look through the conversation and answer the question:

1. Why does Sport want to be an accountant? Make a choice.

  • He likes maths because it’s not hard.

  • He has to plan what to do with the money.

  • His father is an accountant.

Read the conversation again to find answers to these questions:

  1. How does Harriet ask about what Sport wants to be when he grows up?

  2. How does Sport answer the question about his future job?

  3. How does Harriet doubt whether Sport’s choice is right?

  4. How does Sport explain his choice?

  5. How does Harriet express her agreement with Sport’s arguments?

Look through the chart (p.132). It shows that the conversation may go into different ways. Which way does Sport and Harriet’s conversation go? Read it out.

1. Here are different ways people may talk about future jobs ( ex. 2, p.132). Match the functions with the different ways they are expressed.
