Valentine Day 9

A man named Valentine lived in ancient Rome. He was a Cristian priest . The Romans did not like his religion , so they put him in jail. While he was in jail,Valentine wrote letters to his friends and family.He signed them: “From your Valentine.” On February 14, the Romans killed him. However , that day was also a Roman holiday. Every boy chose a girl ,and they went to feast together.

Today , people all over the world celebrate Valentine’s Day. If you love someone , you can write him or her letter on February 14. Maybe he or she loves you, too! The letter is called a “valentine”. The colors of Valentine’s Day are red, pink and white. You can make the card into a heart . Some people also send flowers , candy and chocolate . Roman god of love was an angel called Cupid. Cupid is one symbol of the Valentine’s day. He carries a bow. If Cupid shoots you with one of his arrows, you will fall in love!
