Цели:

• систематизировать и обобщить знания студентов по теме: “Great

Britain”;

• расширить лингвострановедческие знания студентов и учащихся;

• совершенствовать коммуникативные навыки;

• развивать интеллектуальные способности студентов и учащихся;

• развивать догадку, память, мышление, воображение;

• развивать познавательный интерес к предмету;

• воспитывать уважение к культуре англо-язычных стран;

• воспитывать культуру умственного труда.

1. Основная часть.

1. Представление команд.

Капитаны команд объясняют свой выбор названия и девиза команды.

Now, let’s begin the competition. I wish you all and our captains Good Luck.

1. the Introduction of themes.

To begin with, each captain must introduce his or her team, that’s say its name and motto. Then must explain why these name and motto were chosen by the team.

Captains may get 5 points for this task.

The principles of the contest:

1. The originality of the name and the motto.

2. The design of the badges.

3. The explanation of the team’s name and motto. It should be short and clean.

1. Первый раунд. Представители каждой команды отвечают на вопросы по следующим разделам:

I invite the players of the teams to take their places. The player from the first team – Vera Burykh, The player from the second team – Irina Malykhina, The player from the third team – Alyona Zubanova.

You can see the unites and the numbers of the questions, choose the question. The members of the teams can help their players. The right answer will bring you 1 point. The auction question gives you from 5 to 10 points if you know the answer, if you don’t you will loose the points “a cat in a sack’ question can be handed to another player.

• These Remarkable Dates and Numbers (Эти знаменательные даты и числа)

1. Второй раунд. Капитаны команд представляют домашнее задание.

Each team has got a task. I invite the captains to introduce the presentation.

4. Третий раунд. Представители каждой команды отвечают на вопросы по следующим разделам:

2. What country does the symbol represent?

3. What about this symbol?

4. What countries do these symbols represent?

5. What about these ones?

6. This is the tallest tower in Britain. Where is it situated?

7. You can see the oldest universities. Call them please.

8. This church is about 900 years old. Can you say its name?

9. This square is thought to be the center of London. What is it called?

10. Where can you see different animals and birds?
