What kinds of weather do you think caused the following to happen? Write a sentence that could go before each of these. We had to sit in the shade if we went outdoors. I can hardly breathe; I wish it would rain to cool us down. Even the mail carrier had to use a boat to get around. They had to close the airport; it was three feet deep. We were able to sit in the garden in the middle of winter. The earth became rock-hard and a lot of plants died that summer. It blew the newspaper completely out of my hands. A row of big trees was uprooted like matchsticks. There was an awful heat wave last month. It’s muggy today. We had terrible floods. There was a blizzard that night. Do you remember how mild it was that year? There was a very bad drought. Suddenly there was a very strong gust of wind. After the gale, the damage was unbelievable.
