Covent Garden Christmas tree

See one of the largest Christmas trees in London shine beautifully above the cobbled streets of the 19th-century Covent Garden piazza. As well as the 18-metre (60ft) Christmas tree, the area features a forest of smaller trees festively dressed by British brands, mistletoe chandeliers and 100,000 twinkling lights.

St Pancras Christmas tree

Fill your Instagram with snaps of the quirky Christmas tree at St Pancras International station. Created in partnership with EL&N Cafe, the 2020 Tree of Hope features 1200 meters (3937ft) of pink festive ribbon adorned with positive messages of hope from key workers and NHS staff, topped with twinkling lights.

Leadenhall Market Christmas tree

Trafalgar Square Christmas tree

Granary Square Christmas tree

Check out the Electric Nemeton Tree, one of London's most arty Christmas trees at Granary Square in King's Cross. A local architecture practice Sam Jacob Studio is behind this creation, which plays on the tradition of ancient Celtic groves with futuristic metal pine trees placed on a platform, which glow green after dark.

King's Cross Christmas trees

This year's King's Cross Christmas brings a couple of more unique Christmas trees into the area. Botany aficionados, keep an eye out for the Terrarium Tree in Coal Drops Yard, featuring 70 unique terrariums coupled with 168 mirrored baubles, designed by the local brand Botanical Boys. You'll also find The People’s Tree at Battle Bridge Place, an interactive light-installation tree which glows through sensory movement.

Windsor Castle Christmas tree

Head to Windsor Castle, the location of Meghan Markle and Prince Harry's wedding, to see its traditional Nordmann Fir tree as the royal residence is transformed for Christmas. Wembley Park Christmas tree

Discover Wembley Park's playful interpretation of a traditional Christmas tree as you walk through the 25-metre (82ft) London Christmas tree made up of more than 100,000 LED lights and become immersed in kinetic light displays. After checking it out, bag a bargain before the January sales begin at the London Designer Outlet.

Claridge's Christmas tree

Visit the luxurious Mayfair hotel to see the iconic Claridge’s London Christmas tree installation, which is designed by a different designer each year. Last year's tree was designed by Christian Louboutin, dressed with pretty baubles, shoe-shaped gingerbread biscuits and topped with a crown. TBC

Liberty London Christmas tree

Each year, you can discover Liberty London's magical tree floating in the central atrium. Last year, you could find the Tree of Liberty: a gorgeous teal and pink bonsai Christmas tree, visible from every floor of the iconic department store. The elaborate hand-carved installation featured blue velvet branches and reindeer moss decorated with baubles, gifts and exotic animals. TBC

Somerset House Christmas tree

Last year, you could admire one of the most Insta-worthy Christmas trees in London at Somerset House. With the 18th-century courtyard as a beautiful backdrop, the 12-metre (39ft) tree sparkled with huge blue and gold baubles. You could also warm up with a mug of mulled wine or share a cheese fondue at nearby Fortnum's Lodge. TBC
