The importance of continuation of space exploration.

Nowadays, space exploration is considered to be a disputable problem. There is no doubt that it has been an important power playing a great role in the world’s history since last century. The question is, does it have more positive or negative points for mankind? In fact, there are a number of them.

On the one hand, a lot of people are not satisfied with a significant amount of money on a development of space technologies instead of solving endless problems on the Earth. They say it is more important to pay attention to such problems as environment pollution, starving children around the world, diseases that need to be cured and wars. These things have a bigger purpose than finding another planet. In this case spending an enormous amount of money for discovering of space secrets seems them to be at least irrational. Some people who are against space exploration are against it because of the possible dangers that could happen. These dangers are mainly caused by spacecrafts or space shuttles. Thus, this part of mankind doesn’t think that space exploration is worth the cost. There are so many better things that money could be used for. Space exploration is incredibly expensive, and the return on investment is not great enough to justify the expense. This money should be spent on something that could benefit more people.

On the other hand, the exploration of space can really help to solve many social and economic problems from overpopulation to the agricultural problems. Space station can serve as tremendous greenhouses and flying cities. But space exploration is not only a question of economic benefits or scientific progress. We are a species that inhabit only one planet. One comet, one nuclear war, one pandemic, one volcano and the whole of human life would be extinguished forever. Mass extinction is a common phenomenon in the history of the Earth. Our entire civilization will be wiped from the face of the earth. Nobody can save us from the fate of the dinosaurs. No one but us. It allows us to find new places and explore new grounds. We can find new places to live in and explore the galaxies beauties. Traveling to Mars, or farther, could lead to advances in medicine, health, longevity, transportation, communications, and so much more. Moreover, we explore space to create technologies that can be used on our planet. Weather satellites help us track hurricanes and monitor the weather and climate on the Earth. Weather satellites are very helpful for news stations and radio stations. Communication satellites allow us to access information around the world by radio, television and phones.

All in all, it can’t be denied that this problem is very important. To my mind there are more pros than cons. I think we should continue space exploration because it can lead up to new inventions in the technology category and we can discover new resources. It is the investment in the future of humanity.
