Analysis - is the detailed examination of the elements or structure of something, typically as a basis for discussion or interpretation, For example, the elements and patterns related to enrollment and retention.
Authentic assessment- measurement of learning achievement in which 'real world' problems that are meaningful to the trainee are presented.
Collaboration- working together to find a solution.
Creative thinking- cognitive process of generating something new or unique that has value in a situation or context.
Critical thinking- mental process of analyzing or evaluating information; a process of reflecting upon the meaning of statements, examining the offered evidence and reasoning, and forming judgments about the facts. Intellectual values associated with critical thinking include clarity, accuracy, precision, evidence, thoroughness and fairness.
Discovery Approach Learning- is a type of Project Based Learning that shifts the focus away from the product, project, or presentation, and onto the learning itself.
Driving question- each Project Based Learning unit has a Driving Question that addresses significant content from the curriculum.
In-depth inquiry- when learners discover new ways to find information.
Problem solving- answering a problem using a series of steps.
Product- a tangible, observable artifact produced by a student that can be used to determine extent and quality of student learning related to a specified outcome.
Project- is the development of confidence in using English in the real world, the world outside the classroom.
Project-based learning- a dynamic classroom approach in which students actively explore real-world problems and challenges and acquire a deeper knowledge and understanding, typically demonstrated in the creation of a product or performance.
Rubric- A criterion-based scoring guide that enables judges to make reliable judgments about student work and enables students to self-assess their performance.
Significant Content- is the learning material that students will be using while creating the project.
Voice and choice- Students should have a say in some aspects of the project (voice) and be required to make choices in many areas. Providing room for “voice and choice” is part of building student engagement.
