CHRISTMAS AT THE BROWNS. (The Browns - семья)

English children like Christmas. It’s the best time of the year for them. All children can find presents in their Christmas stockings.

Before Christmas the Browns are busy. The children are decorating the room with flowers and the Christmas tree with red and yellow balls. The father is helping them. The mother is cooking. Little Kitty is with her. She asks her mother many questions. “Is Santa Claus big?”, she asks.

“No, he is not very big. He looks like your grandfather”, her mother answers.

“Has he got dolls for good girls? Is he funny? Does he come in the morning or in the evening? Can he fly?”

“I can’t answer all your questions, dear. It’s a secret. Don’t forget about your Christmas stocking!” the mother answers.

On Christmas morning Jenny, Jack and Kitty find many presents in their Christmas stockings.

“Merry Christmas, Mummy! Merry Christmas, Daddy!” they say.

“Look at the nice things we’ve got. These are nice dolls. And Jack has got a white rabbit and a big book. And many, many sweets and chocolate. It’s great!” The children are happy. And the parents are happy, too.
