The Unspoken Law That Influences All Languages
Do you know about the Zipf’s Law? It demonstrates how communication is dominated by a limited amount of words. One-third of the terms we use are in the top 25, and almost half are in the top 100! That means. in any given language, a small number of words are used very frequently, while most words are used rarely. Zipf’s law is true for almost all languages. Nobody knows for sure why this occurs. Perhaps we tend to use simpler, more familiar words more often to communicate effectively.or.?
