Welcome to Belarus

Belarus is a country in the center of Europe. Due to its geographical position it is a welcoming country for foreign visitors. Overseas tourists are not put off taking a holiday in Belarus by the weather because the weather is quite pleasant and without extreme temperatures to make a tour around Belarus a comfortable one.

When you are in Belarus you can visit a lot of places of interest such as Brest Fortress, Mir and Nesvizh Castles, Belovezhskayay Pushcha and others. Certainly you should visit the capital of the country Minsk. There are a lot of different sightseeings: the National Library, the Museum of Great Patriotic war, Trinity Suburb, the Eternal Flame, the Ballet and Opera House and others.

But the main treasure is Belarusian people who are kind, hard-working and hospitable. They have rich culture and traditions. To understand Belarusian culture better you can visit village-museum Dudutki or simply visit a Belarusian wedding with its ceremonies and traditions such as “buyout of bride”, “brerad and Salt” tradition and others. Belarusian culture is represented by such national feasts as ‘Kolyady”, “Maslenitsa”, “Kupalle” and others. Participating in these is always a great fun.

I can’t but mention our national clothes, which special features are in colors and ornaments. The traditional combination of red and white colours with geometrical ornament plays an important part in creating a special character of our national costumes. The most important part of a costume is a belt with its ornament and color which can carry different meaning and protect people from bad spirits and devil. The brightest example is Slutsk Belts.

Belarus is also famous for different international events which take place on its territory. BFW is one of them. It takes place twice a year. Designers from different countries can take part in it. BFW includes a number of spectacular projects and fashion events. People organize different charity events to help and support children.

International Art Festival “Slavyansky Bazar” is annually held in Vitebsk. For the first time the festival was organized in 1992. Today participants from 46 countries attend this annual cultural event. If you are a talented and creative person willing to take part in something interesting you should visit Belarus because here you can choose from different events. They are International Festival of Young Talents “the Earth Under White Wings”, International Children’s Festival “Golden Bee”, International Folk Art Festival “Wreath of Friendship”, International Theatre Festival “White Tower”, Minsk International Film Festival “Listapad”, International Festival of Animated Films “Animaevka” and many, many others.

So, according to all mentioned above we can say that our country is a good place to live and develop ourselves.
