• The original name: University of Oxford;
• Date of foundation: the exact date is unknown, but many sources say, that it was 1096 year;

• Chancellor of the University of Oxford: Christopher Francis Patten (Assumed office

• The University consists of 38 colleges and 6 dormitories — private schools belonging to religious orders without the status of a College.

• The main areas of training students — mathematical, humanitarian, social Sciences, physical, medicine, environment and life Sciences.

• The Bodleian Library is the main research library of the University of Oxford, is one of the oldest libraries in Europe, with over 12 million items.

• There are more than 300 interest groups for students’ leisure and health. Usually, students pay more attention to sport, because it is useful type of recreation.

• Louise Mary Richardson-the first woman Vice-Chancellor of Oxford University. Assumed office 1 January 2016.

• Oxford University is the most famous university for students’ education, leisure and development. It has beautiful buildings and sights that can amaze us. This work informs about University’s splendor in brief. And it is much more interesting to see it with our own eyes and sense the local atmosphere.
