Let`s walk the streets of the town. You have the text about the interesting places near our school.
But before reading we will work with unknown words. Look at the screen and repeat after me all together.
Now, read the text, please
There are a lot of educational institutions in Michurinsk and our school is among them. It is famous for its traditions, successful students and glorious history. You can find lots of interesting buildings around it.
There is a Sports School for children and youth to the left of our school. It was opened in 1944. Now it is the largest sports school in Tambov region.
The town`s administration is opposite school №1. Merchant Polyanskiy constructed this building at the beginning of the 20th century. The main pharmacy of the town is on the ground floor.
The local historical museum is on the same side of the street, which is the oldest monument of Michurinsk. Every year more than 10 thousand people visit it.
From here you can quickly walk to one of the buildings of Michurinsk State Agrarian University. It was merchant Kuryanov`s house. Later there was a private women`s gymnasium before the Revolution.
Up along Gogolevskaya street you will see the Drama Theatre. It was built in 1913 with the help of town`s society and the head of the town.
