«Эссе на педагогическую тему.»

Nick is a primary school learner. At English language lessons he is the best student in the class. Moreover, he is the most active, curious and very often even importunate. He completes the tasks faster than the others, always corrects his groupmates’ answers and even the teacher. Nick tries to overshadow everybody and to be in the focus of attention every single minute of the lesson. What would you do if you were Nick’s teacher?

The emergence of a hyperactive child in the class makes life more difficult for the whole team from the first minute. Of course it is great to have active and motivated students the class, but sometimes it's not easy for teachers.

If I were in such a situation, firstly, I would have probably talked with him after a lesson. I can to explain him that he is not the only student in my class and we have to listen to each other and be more patient. Secondly, if he completes the tasks faster that other, I will give another individual tasks for him and we will check it after lesson. Thirdly, interrupting and attracting attention is the greatest problem for teachers during the lesson. I think that teacher should not notice the “active” student firstly, but to give the chance to correct wrong classmates’ answers afterwards and to praise of course. May be, the teacher can guide his curiosity and interest in the language project on the theme of the lesson or semester. Of course, if I have no idea how to solve this problem I will consult with parents or phycologist at the school.

To conclusion, I want to say that in any class there is the student who likes to attract attention, but we should always remember that some ones in the class need your attention more and you even have to put them together to work as a team.
