Ход урока

  1. Introduction

Good morning, dear boys and girls! I’m very glad to see you. Are you OK? How are you? Have you got any problems? Any special news?

If you are ready, let’s start our lesson. Who is on duty?

That’s all right. Today we will have an unusual lesson. There some guests at our lesson. I hope you’ll show them all your knowledge.

Today we continue to speak about our family and what you do to help your family.

2. Phonetic drill.

To begin with I suggest you to twist our tongues. Let’s do some our phonetic exercises.

And now let’s recall the poem about our animals: a cat, a pig, a fox, a hen which went to town to buy a hat, a stick, a box and a pen.

3. The theme of the lesson.

Dear pupils, please, look at the blackboard and read the questions:

  1. Are you a doctor? (No, I’m not)

  2. Are you from Moscow? (No, I’m not)

  3. Are you happy? (Yes, I’m )

How many yes have you got? And now: Are you a daughter (a son)? All the answers are “yes”. Why? Because you all have families. But who makes a family?

  1. Vocabulary.

Game 1. “Try to guess!” Who is who?

Grandmother’s daughter

Grandfather’s son

Mother’s mother

Your father’s father

Your mother’s son

Your father’s daughter

Your father’s sister

Your mother’s brother

A father, a mother, a grandmother, a grandfather, a brother, a sister, an aunt, an uncle are the members of the family. Some families are small and some ones are large. Do you come from a large or a small family? How many relatives do you have?

Game 2. Your homework was to draw your family tree and tell us who you have and what she or he like to do.

  1. Listening.

Oh, there is a knock at the door. Somebody is going here. I wonder, who it is? Just a minute, please. (Hello! Can I help you? A letter? To the pupils? I see, thanks.)

I’m very surprised but there is a letter to you. A postman gave it to me. Let’s open the envelope. What is there in the envelope? It’s a cassette and there is a sign “from Mary” on it. It is of great interest. This is a sound letter I think. Let’s listen to this letter and find out what Mary writes to us about.

/The first listening/

Who is the letter from? What does she write about? Who is there in her family? How many people are there in her family?

/the second listening/

And now try to remember what Mary’s family likes to do.
